Homemade Christmas II

On my mom's side of the family, the cousins draw names for Christmas presents. After losing Grandmama Whittle this year, I wanted something special to give the girls. Going through some of Grandmama's things, we found a recipe book of hers where her recipes that she is most famous for were written in her handwriting. I knew I had found a treasure that we would all want a piece of. I went through the book and chose ones that were typical Grandmama recipes and divided them into 5 categories: Appetizers, Main Dishes, Side Dishes, Desserts and Holiday Recipes. Each category was given a specific color and a specific accent color. I also chose scriptures that pertained to cooking, Grandmama and hospitality to place on each divider page. To make each recipe book special for each individual family, I went through photo albums and pulled out pictures each grandchild in Grandmama's kitchen or around Grandmama's table. These last two pictures are examples of the recipe pages. I took the recipes I had chose to Kinko's and had each copied. I love the way the wear and tear of these precious recipes shows up in the pictures. Oriental Trading had these lovely kitchen brads to give simple embellishments to some of the pages. I was thrilled with the way these turned out. I know mine will have a special place in my home for many years to come.
