These last two pictures are examples of the recipe pages. I took the recipes I had chose to Kinko's and had each copied. I love the way the wear and tear of these precious recipes shows up in the pictures. Oriental Trading had these lovely kitchen brads to give simple embellishments to some of the pages. I was thrilled with the way these turned out. I know mine will have a special place in my home for many years to come.
that is such a great gift idea! So precious for all the girls you gave them to! I would love for you to pass along some of the recipes you love :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutley LOVE this! The thought behind it; the timelessness of the gift; the treasure it will be through the years! You struck GOLD with this one and out-did yourself!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! These will be forever treasures. Great work!
ReplyDeleteAgain, I am just stunned by your creativity. I think you more than prove that the worth of a gift is not in the amount spent on it.
ReplyDeleteHi there...
ReplyDeleteI included your post in the latest issue of my blog carnival - hope to send some readers your way!
That truly will be treasured. My best friend passed away 2 years ago & she did this herself for all her kids with her recipies before she passed away... its something they treasure now & protect like nothing else they have. Jewelry, money, material things - nothing compares to this!
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful! I wish I had a book like this from my Granny.
ReplyDeleteWow Becky!! That turned out great! What a special gift!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! What a special gift.
ReplyDeleteThat is so precious! The year my mom died (very unexpectedly), my cousin compiled a family cookbook in her honor. There are quite a few of us and we all emailed our favorite recipes, and she included lots of verses and extras too. She also included the instructions to all of the family's favorite card games! It's about the only cookbook I use!!
ReplyDeleteI have an Award foe you on our blog:)
ReplyDeleteWibeche
What a wonderful gift to recieve. Your Grandmama would be proud that these recipes are being passed along the family.
ReplyDeleteLove,

What a precious gift, Becky! I should do something similar with the recipes my late grandmother recorded for me. I asked her to write them down for me when I was a newlywed, and I still love to see her distinctive handwriting on the cards.
ReplyDeleteI need to show this idea to my mother-in-law. While she is out of commission with a broken leg, maybe she would write down her recipes for us. She is a great hostess, so this would be a treasure!
That is a very thoughtful and special gift. I love the way it turned out!
ReplyDeleteMy cousin and I did that two years ago after my grandmother died. It was a hit. We had stories from childhood on each of the dividers, along with photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat gift idea!
I LOVE this idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your letter can be R for recipes. So, you just need to make a list of ten of your favorite things that start with the letter R. thanks for playing along!
What a great idea! That turned out lovely. An awesome keepsake.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying seeing all your ideas! Congrats on your SITS spotlight last week!
