Everything is Awesome on Valentine's Day!

For Valentine's Day we took the kiddos along with the Youngs to see
The Lego Movie!
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Besides, the kids loved it so that is all that matters!

You Have Left Your Mark on my Heart

Our youth group holds a Sweetheart Dinner each year around Valentine's Day for the senior members and elders of our congregation.  They asked the Tweens to help with the take home for the night.  I was asked to be in charge of that.  So, we met up for a Saturday morning of crafting to get it done.

We made these bookmarks for each person to take home with them.  The kids added their "mark" to the bookmark and put the pieces together to form the bookmarks.

"You have left your mark on my heart!"
"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you."
Philippians 1:3

I am sure these precious faces made many hearts smiled as well as left their own mark on hearts.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day
from our house to yours!!!

During the snow days last week, my sweet kids made these easy, adorable Valentine's for the senior members of our congregation.  The teens held a Sweetheart Dinner for all the elders and senior members on the Saturday before Valentine's Day.  They asked some of the younger kids to make Valentine's to give out at the dinner.  My kids picked this Valentine to make.

I used my Cricut and the cartridge, Plantin Schoolbook.  We used the flower shape on the cartridge and cut them at 3 inches.  For some of the the flower petals, we chose to italicize the flowers to give a different shape. We used them for the top pedals.  We cut other flowers just as is and used them for the bottom flowers.  to assemble, we stuck the stick of a lollipop through the center of the flowers we had cut out.  Very simple and easy, but the kids thought they looked great.  It was something THEY COULD DO, and we did it!!!  We made close to 50 in one afternoon - which shows you how simple and easy they are to put together!!

We hope you have had a special day with ALL of your loves!!!!

Valentine's Day 2010

This is this year's Valentine's Day cards we sent out to friends and family. I was pleased with how they turned out given how simple they are. I have really enjoyed making these in the past years and look forward to finding a new idea for next year!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My friend, Betsy, made pictures of her boys last year and I wanted to copy them so bad!!! One of our college kids took these pictures for me this year and I was just thrilled with how they turned out! Thank you, Laura! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

I took some of the pictures and made two different cards out of them to send to family. Here is what I did.

Uncut Valentine's Day Pictures

Well, my friend, Betsy, inspired me . . . . These are not final copies, but I was somewhat pleased. I had to settle for the box of candy instead of large lollipops. Henderson does not have large lollipops and our Target is by all the tornado destrucion. . . maybe next year. I already have plans in my head!!!! Thanks, Betsy.
