Basketball Season 2014 Begins

Basketball season at the junior high has begun and we are loving watching LB play.
She has come a long way for never playing basketball until last year.
She has even seen a little time on varsity.

One thing we love about basketball season is getting to hang out with Elam and Erby Anne.
Coach Murphy's wife is my partner teacher at school, and our kids ADORE each other.

1,000 Career Point

A few weeks ago, this blurry picture happened.
Hayley's 1000 career point at FHU.
Yep... We were proud!

We were super proud to see her get her ball for that 1000th point!

The kids were PUMPED to be the
"Keepers of the Ball" during the game.

YAY, HAY!!!!

Carter Takes the Court

If there is a ball involved, Carter wants a piece of the action, so needless to say,
he has always been playing basketball!
He moved up in the Saturday league and had a great season with great teammates!
What more could you ask for?

This season was the ONLY time you would EVER hear me yell,
"Go HEAT!"

LB Takes the Court

Damon has BEGGED LB to play basketball for YEARS
and she would never do it.
Then, this past spring she decided she would try out for the junior high basketball team,
and she made it!
Being a 6th grader, she mainly was on the practice team, so she played in the Saturday league as well.
We are proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone and playing!

Getting ready to come in the game

Sorry this is blurry but it is the story of her life - everyone is 10xs bigger than she is!
Here are some shots from her Saturday league....

She had a great season and who knows what will come of it now!

We LOVE Our FHU Basketball Teams!

To say we love supporting our FHU Lady Lions and Lions basketball teams
is a huge understatement.
We have enjoyed this season with both teams so very much this year.
Both teams at one point held the #1 spot in the nation and both have played their hearts out
in this brand new conference.
Here are some of my favorite shots of the season so far!

Thanks to Caleb Cook for this RARE family photo.
The FHU baseball team continues to support in various ways and, of course, Carter had to participate!

After each game, Carter will go down (usually followed by friends) to give high 5's to the teams.
I think some of them enjoy it as much as he does!

After each girls' game, we loose LB and usually find her with the Lady Lions just hanging out cheering for the boys!

We can't wait to see what else the season holds for everyone!

GOTCHA!

The new game at the house on Sundays is
GOTCHA!
The kids love playing and causing havoc on the others
while the game is going on.
Damon and I have even been known to get in a game or two ourselves.
My favorite part though is hearing the laughter that comes from the court!
Usually after GOTCHA, 3 on 3 basketball games begin - without fail they are
girls vs. boys.
I just love Sundays for so many reasons -
these pictures being many of them.

Carter likes to make up his own rules to GOTCHA as the game goes on.
Here Hayley is showing him who is the REAL winner of GOTCHA!
Sometimes we can be sore losers - this is what they look like!

We ALWAYS have GOTCHA finals where all the winners of all the GOTCHA games
from the day come together to see who the ULTIMATE GOTCHA champion is . . .
or at least who cheated the most!

The girls are almost ALWAYS the winner of the 3 on 3 games.

We Are the Champions!!!

We love our Lady Lion Basketball girls
(whoo hoo, Hayley!)
just as much as our baseball boys.
I just can never seem to get some good pictures at those games.  However, I FOR SURE had my camera on this night because I was not going to miss the conference championship!!!

Carter is already too cool for us - he has to sit with the baseball boys during the games.

However, sometimes he will venture over to see Shelbie and Addie who adore him and LB.
Needless to say, I was too busy cheering during the game to take pictures, but I got the most important ones - AFTER the game!!!

Hayley cutting down the nets

LOVE Cynthia and Hayley

She's a bit excited!!!!

Mom is too!

This mom is too!

Yes, this is a rare picture of Carter and Cynthia!!!

He really does love them! (and the chase)

Hayley and Jordan

The baseball boys are the biggest fans!

besides these two, that is!

Whose child is that?
We are so proud of our NAIA TranSouth Champions!!!!
