Running for MSYC

The weekend of Homecoming at FHU brings one of our favorite 5Ks of the year - the MSYC 5k.
The kids love seeing their favorite people from one of their favorite places on earth.
They really enjoyed this year's 5k again.

It's amazing that 5-6 years ago, she would not even go NEAR Steven.
Now she begins the race on his shoulders!

Carter did a great job running this year. Although he didn't place (because he was in a major
age group with college kids), he ran a personal best!

They did not run the whole race like this!
LB did a great job, too, a personal best gave her second place in her age group.

LB loves Leanna!

Got to LOVE MSYC!!!!

MSYC Week 7

While I hate that 5 weeks of our 9 week summer were spent NOT together,
I LOVE the fact that those 5 weeks were spent at MSYC.
This year it worked out where the kids did not go AT ALL together.
Next year, I think I am putting my foot down and that will not happen.
However, I do love the fact that they love to make new friends...
that they love to spend time in a place that focus on God...
that they want to spend their summers surrounded by people who are wanting them
to go to heaven.

Carter spent his last week at MSYC alone.
He was the ONLY boy from our church there.
Did that bother him?
NOT. AT. ALL.

He made a TON of new BIG friends.

He even got Camper of the Week!

He got to spend another week with his beloved Spenser before he heads
off to Disney.  (McCall Family, you better take care of him!)

Apparently, he never left these 2 except to sleep at night.

However, he is ready to spend 2 days with this girl before SHE leaves for camp!

And who could forget Lanie....

He really does love her!

No.... there really is no other place I would want my kids to spend their summer.
Thank you, MSYC, for giving them a little piece of heaven on earth!

Third Week in a Row - Carter's Turn!

For the third Sunday in a row we are taking a kid to camp!
This time it is Carter and all of his friends.
All I have to say is, "Bless, Spenser's heart!"

This girl!  What would I do without her?

Monday for the hike Leanna and Carter wound up dressing a lot alike!

Carter and Miller have reconnected at camp this week!
Once again, dressing alike for Tacky Day this time!

Friday rolls around again . . .

These pictures mean so much to me.
So much more than most people will ever see.
I am so thankful for these pictures...
the people in them...
and the meanings behind them.

And for those who REALLY know Carter...
This is what happened 30 minutes after he came home, and lasted for 3 hours
after he came home!
This NEVER happens!

And We're Back!

We had about a 48 hour rest period (and lots of laundry)
LB went BACK to camp for Week 2.
This time Anniston joined Madlyn and LB.
They usually go Week 3, but Anniston is headed to Panama during that week, so
Week 2 it was.

Darby was the lucky counselor for the week!

Wednesday night ready for church with Leanna.
The girls were SO proud of these WAY TOO BIG sweatshirts they found
50% off!!!!!

Bible class with Lauren for the week!
Remember that WAY TOO BIG sweatshirt?
LB and Darby BOTH fit in it!

Friday mornings are always tough because it is time to say
good-bye again.

The girls opened a bakery for the week where they sold different things.
They made up different songs to lure customers in.

Great friends...
Great memories...
Great worship times...
A Great God they get to learn more about...
