A Call to Pray

I call upon all of us to pray for our new leaders - whether they were the ones we voted for or not. Change can happen with God's help and we all need to take part in calling upon Him on behalf of our president, vice president, Congress and judges as they try to make our world a better place to live. We can pray that the decisions they make will be godly decisions and they will look to God for guidance in their decisions. Let us call upon God and His word to make a difference in all of our lives from this moment.

"I urge, then, first of all that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving by made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

- 1 Timothy 2:1-2

"When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. . ."

- Proverbs 29:2

"Righteousness exalts a nation . . ."

- Proverbs 15:3-4

"For the nation that will not serve You will perish. . . "

- Isaiah 60:12

"…always pray and never lose hope."

- Luke 18:1

"Then if my people, who are called by my name, are sorry for what they have done, if they pray and obey me and stop their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land."

- 2 Chronicles 7:14

"And this is the boldness we have in God’s presence: that if we ask God for anything that agrees with what He wants, He hears us."

- 1 John 5:14

"We do not ask these things because we are good; instead, we ask because of Your mercy."

- Daniel 9:18

"Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?"

- Psalm 85:6

"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord. . . "
- Proverbs 21:1

". . . be subject to governing authorities . . ."
- Romans 13:1

"Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world."

- Ephesians 6:12

" . . . O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and obey commands, let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer Your servant is praying before You day and night . . . I confess the sins we . . . have committed against You."

- Nehemiah 1:5-7

Click on the Presidential Prayer team button of my sidebar to join in prayer for our nation's leaders. There is even a kid section so they can learn now to their part. Thank you for allowing me to share this and, as always,
God Bless America!

Excellent post. Although there is a lot of excitement today, there are many who are fearful of what is to come. Prayer is so important now for both those camps. God truly is in charge and he can change hearts.

Thanks for the scriptures and the call to prayer. Perhaps we will remain more vigilant about growing in our faith because our guy didn't win. But a closer walk with God will mean we did win after all!

Beatifully said. Thank you!

When I get discouraged about the uncertainty our country faces, I need to remind myself that God is in control---no matter what, all the time, and He is always good.

Have a great day!

Shannon
