If your mom said she would take you to California, would you believe her? She might make you wait first. You may have to pack for the trip, and then drive all the way there. Sometimes that is not very fun but you have to do it. Once you get to California you have a great time. The wait was worth it!

God tells us in the Bible He is going to take us to a better place - Heaven. Even thought we aren't going today, doesn't mean we aren't going. We have to wait on God. Sometimes our wait on earth is not fun but having faith in God helps us wait.

What is faith? Faith is trusting in God to do what He says. How do we know what He says? We read the Bible and believe His word. We can believe what He says because God does not lie.

In Hebrews chapter 11, we are reminded that Abraham had faith in God. God told Abraham to move. Abraham didn't know where he was going, but he went. He had faith in God. Then God said Abraham would have children. He was so old he was almost dead. Abraham had faith and his children are as many as the stars.

Having faith in God can be difficult at times. Along our way, we can put our faith in God by praying because we know He is listening. We can obey Him because we trust Him. We can see the friends and family He puts in our lives to be with us. We can completely depend on Him to keep His promises. The trip may be long and tough but when you get to the end - Heaven will be worth it all!
