Just a Note . . . Or Two. . . Or Three

I made these note card packs for a craft fair this winter and then used some of them as gifts. They are easy to make and great to give to that person who loves to write notes. Start with a 6x6 postbound scrapbook page refill. You will want to cut off the side with the holes, yet keep the seam intact so you will be able to have 3 sides sewn together and the top seam open. Choose 3-4 pages of scrapbook paper that coordinates in some way. One of these pages you will want to cut 6x9. This will slip down into the sleeve you have made out of the page protector. Once you slip it down into the sleeve and then fold the excess paper over to make a flap. I used a corner rounder to round off the edges. Once you have the flap made, attach a piece of Velcro to the sleeve and flap (as shown) to keep it closed.

Once the sleeve is complete, you can make the cards to go with it. I get 81/2 x 11 cardstock and use my paper cutter to cut it in half. Take each half and hold it in half to make the card. Using the extra pages of paper you have set aside, cut the paper to cover the front of cards. When the cards are finished (4-6 cards) place them along with envelopes inside the sleeve and you are done.

This is a great craft idea because depending on your level of crafting, you can keep it simple or complex. For the pictures, I used paper from Jenni Bowlin. Her craft kits all coordinate and even come with accessories. I also use Stampin' Up for paper as well as the 6x6 page protectors. You can add stamps to the projects to reflect personality or personalize it for a special friend. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am getting use to giving written instructions. I am such a verbal person!!!! Enjoy!!!

So cute! I love this idea. I have made notecards before, but never made something to put them in. Great idea!
