Laura Beth informed us this spring that we needed to grow a garden so we could grow vegetables for our friends and people who were sick. Well, when a 5 year old tells you that, you do it! We have planted a garden full of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, cantaloupes, cucumbers, squash and watermelon, and everything is growing so fast! The kids love going out there to pick different items each day. We have a small tin pail, left over from the Little House on the Prairie party, that we take out to place the vegetables in to carry. I am so proud of Laura Beth because she has been so good to share her vegetables with her friends and people who are sick. What a lesson she has taught us!
This is Laura Beth's watermelon. She began growing this in her Kindergarten class and we replanted it in the garden. She is so excited one is actually growing and almost ready to pick. We found the second watermelon today! What a great surprise! Laura Beth with her tomato plants.
